Eugene and Dan Levy, known for their roles in the acclaimed series “Schitt’s Creek,” will host the 76th Emmy Awards. This marks the first time a father-son duo will take on the role.

The awards show will air live coast to coast from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, Sept. 16, streaming exclusively on Lionsgate Play in the Philippines at 8 a.m. (PHT).

“For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough,” the Levys said. “We’re thrilled to celebrate this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with you all.”

Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, praised the Levys’ “comedic intuition and ability to capture the hearts of viewers.” Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego added, “Eugene and Dan are known for unforgettable laugh-out-loud moments on screen.”

Jesse Collins Entertainment, led by executive producers Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay, has reassembled the production team from last year’s Emmy telecast. Returning team members include director Alex Rudzinski, co-executive producer Brittany Brazil, production designer Brian Stonestreet, and head writer Jon Macks. Emmy Award winner Rickey Minor will serve as music director for the sixth time. Eric Cook joins this year’s team as a co-executive producer.

Eugene and Dan Levy’s hosting promises an entertaining evening as they honor the year’s best in television.
