Livestream shopping gains ground in PH e-commerce

Live Selling

Livestream shopping is taking a bigger role in Philippine e-commerce as brands increasingly use creators, short-form video, and live broadcasts to reach consumers and generate sales directly on online platforms.

Ahead of the 9.9 Mega Campaign, Star Digital Solutions (SDS), recognized as a top MCN and TikTok Shop Partner (TSP) agency in the Philippines, said it is preparing more than 100 livestream sessions covering over 1,000 livestream hours. The volume is almost double its livestream activity during the 6.6 campaign.

The increase shows how major online shopping events such as 9.9, 10.10, 11.11, and 12.12 have evolved beyond traditional e-commerce discounts. Brands are combining livestreams, creators, digital advertising, and online stores to attract shoppers and turn views into purchases.

SDS works with brands across FMCG, beauty and personal care, fashion, health, and technology. For the 9.9 campaign, the agency is combining shop management, livestream commerce, performance marketing, content creation, creative work, and production.

“E-commerce in the Philippines is no longer just a sales channel — it is becoming a critical driver of brand growth,” said Kevin Richard Lim, CEO of Star Digital Solutions. “As consumers increasingly discover products through content, creators, and livestreams, brands need more than an online presence; they need a commerce strategy that connects discovery, engagement, and conversion.”

SDS also operates across Store and Shop Management, Livestream Commerce, Creative Development and Production, Media Planning and Buying, Affiliate Marketing, Influencer Marketing, Warehousing, and Fulfillment.

This setup allows brands to connect the different stages of online shopping, from consumers discovering a product through a creator or livestream to placing an order and receiving the item.

“A successful livestream is never the work of one person or department — it is the result of synergy. From hosts and creatives to operations, performance, and production, every function must work toward one objective,” said Scott Adrian So, COO of Star Digital Solutions.

The agency currently manages accounts from companies and brands including L’Oréal Group, P&G, Unilever, Nestlé, Christy Ng, Rejuran, ROUND LAB, Strokes Beauty Lab, BLK Cosmetics, and Happy Skin.

The growth of livestream shopping also reflects a broader change in consumer behavior. Products can now be discovered, demonstrated, discussed, and purchased within the same social commerce platform, reducing the steps between advertising and checkout.

For brands, that makes livestream commerce more than another marketing format. It is becoming part of the technology and operations supporting online retail, particularly during major e-commerce campaigns when companies compete for both consumer attention and spending.
