Mapúa University has launched (artificial intelligence) AI-integrated learning programs to strengthen its role in modern education.

The institution, part of the Yuchengco Group of Companies, is offering courses like Basic Prompt Engineering with ChatGPT and AI Foundations: Scripting ChatGPT with Python. These courses aim to equip students with essential skills in large language models (LLMs) and Python programming. Through its collaboration with Arizona State University, Mapúa plans to introduce more AI-related modules.

Last year, Mapúa partnered with global technology company Cisco to create the first digital university in the Philippines, utilizing hybrid learning tools such as Cisco Webex and Meraki Wireless. This collaboration is part of a broader effort to modernize classrooms using AI-powered solutions.

“It is this kind of commitment to future-proofing the academe and the future of Filipinos that keeps Mapúa University in its game-changing and trailblazing streak,” Dr. Dodjie Maestrecampo, president and CEO of Mapúa University, said in a media release.

In addition to AI, Mapúa has partnered with Sophos to offer cybersecurity courses, preparing students for the demands of the digital workforce. The university’s BS Entertainment and Multimedia Computing program also equips students with game development skills, offering a pathway to careers in the gaming industry.
