Octa-core CPU design
The Dimensity 9300 is equipped with Arm’s Immortalis-G720, the latest flagship GPU, to deliver a nearly 46% boost in GPU performance without increasing power consumption compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9200. It also reduces GPU power consumption by 40% while maintaining the same level of performance, ensuring improved performance without sacrificing battery life. The chipset’s octa-core CPU design, combined with MediaTek’s second-generation hardware raytracing engine, enables console-level global illumination effects at a smooth 60 FPS, allowing seamless multitasking for gaming and video streaming.
The Dimensity 9300 redefines mobile photography and video capture by integrating a low-power AI-ISP with always-on HDR support for 4K resolution at 60 fps. It also offers cinematic mode with real-time bokeh tracking, AI Noise Reduction (AI-NR), and AI processing on RAW photos and videos. Additionally, the chipset supports the new Ultra HDR format in Android 14, making photos more vibrant and compatible with the widely-used JPEG format.
The Dimensity 9300’s display system utilizes on-device AI capabilities to detect primary objects and background images in real-time. Coupled with the MiraVision Picture Quality (PQ) engine, it dynamically enhances contrast, sharpness, and color, delivering lifelike video experiences akin to flagship DTVs.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, the Dimensity 9300 supports Wi-Fi 7 speeds up to 6.5 Gbps and integrates MediaTek Xtra RangeTM Technology for improved long-range connectivity. It also enhances smartphone tethering speeds by up to 3X with MediaTek’s Multi-Link Hotspot technology.
Additional key features of the Dimensity 9300 include a powerful configuration built on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm process, support for high display refresh rates (WQHD at 180Hz and 4K up to 120Hz), seamless 5G connectivity with the 5G R16 modem, and speedy LPDDR5T 9600Mbps memory.
The chipset employs a privacy-focused security design that safeguards critical processes during boot-up and secure computing. The Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 processors support Arm’s advanced Memory Tagging Extension (MTE) technology, aiding developers in identifying memory-related bugs and enhancing user safety. Google’s commitment to supporting MTE across its entire Android stack will accelerate development and time to market for OEMs.
