Sportradar, a sports data and technology provider, has entered a multiyear agreement with Major League Baseball (MLB) to enhance player scouting and performance analysis. This collaboration will use Sportradar’s Synergy Coaching and Scouting solution to provide MLB and its 30 teams with deeper insights into amateur baseball prospects.
The agreement significantly increases event coverage, expanding from 3,300 to over 20,000 games. This includes college, international, and professional partner leagues, as well as key amateur leagues like the MLB Draft League, the Appalachian League, and top high school events. The technology aims to simplify talent identification and improve the scouting process.
“Sportradar’s cutting-edge technology, alongside our reputation as a trusted partner to leading US sports leagues, is driving the transformation of sports performance analysis,” said Eduard Blonk, chief commercial officer of Sportradar. “Through Synergy, we are pleased that we are expanding our relationship with MLB, equipping them with the deep data and insights they need to identify the next generation of players.”
The Synergy platform transforms video data into actionable insights and metrics, using advanced technology to evaluate players and game situations. By leveraging this tool, MLB scouts will have access to detailed visualizations and in-depth analysis, enabling more efficient decision-making during the scouting and drafting process.
“This platform has become a key resource for Clubs in the domestic and international scouting process, and we look forward to continuing our work with Sportradar in the coming years,” said John D’Angelo, SVP of Amateur and Medical Operations at MLB.
