In the psychological thriller “Without Sin,” a grieving mother finds herself facing the unthinkable. Stella Tomlinson, played by Vicky McClure, seeks answers about her daughter’s murder by meeting Charles Stone, the convicted killer portrayed by Johnny Harris. As she questions his guilt, a new mystery unfolds, putting another life at risk.
The four-part series explores Stella’s journey through grief and doubt, forcing her into an uneasy alliance with Stone to uncover the truth. Writer Frances Poletti shared that the idea stemmed from McClure’s interest in restorative justice, inspired by a documentary. “She wanted to dive into the question of what would happen if a mother met the man she believed had killed her child,” Poletti explained.
For McClure, the story revolves around redemption. “Stella has nothing to lose. Answers won’t bring her daughter back, but she needs to know the truth,” she said in an interview with Big Issue.
“Without Sin” is streaming on Lionsgate Play, delivering a gripping exploration of justice, redemption, and the blurred line between victim and villain.
