Oppo, Discovery, and the Department of Tourism (DOT) have released a short film featuring the Tboli community in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. The project was filmed using the Oppo Reno14 Series 5G and is part of Discovery’s Culture in a Shot program, under the 2025 theme “Celebrate the Moment.”

The initiative focuses on preserving and promoting Indigenous traditions. After covering stories in 15 countries and regions, the program turned to the Philippines to highlight T’boli creativity, including weaving, brasswork, and daily practices.

“At Oppo, we believe technology should go beyond convenience. It should empower communities and preserve heritage,” said Joanarc Sales, associate marketing director of Oppo Philippines. “This partnership with Discovery and the Department of Tourism allows us to do just that.”

The short film highlights cultural practices such as T’nalak weaving, which follows the dreams of weavers guided by Fu Dalu, and Sesotunawa brass casting, which carries deep symbolic meaning. Oppo and Discovery said the collaboration aims to preserve these stories while promoting cultural appreciation.

The film was produced with support from DOT Region XII and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples. T’boli elders guided the project, giving their consent to ensure accuracy and respect. The Reno14 Series 5G’s camera system and AI imaging were used to capture clear, color-faithful footage, particularly in low-light settings, without heavy equipment.

The film will be shown on the 3D billboard at One Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City. Viewers are invited to take photos with the display and share them online using campaign hashtags (#OPPOLovesThePhilippines #OPPOReno14Series5G #MakeYourMoment #OPPOxDiscovery #OPPOCultureChallenge) for a chance to win a Glossy Pink Oppo Reno14 F 5G.

Oppo said the campaign also seeks community participation by encouraging people to share photos and videos of their own hometowns, which may inspire future features.
