Organizers of what could have been the Philippine Fintech Festival (PFF) has announced its cancellation amid the uncertainties COVID-19 bring.
In a statement, Monette Iturralde-Hamlin, president and founder, TeamAsia, which is the official event organizer of PFF 2020, expressed her gratitude to the people who supported the launch earlier this year.
“This historic event would have been a great opportunity for people and brands to further tech up as the industry continues to innovate Filipino consumers and businesses,” Iturralde-Hamlin said.

Following the cautionary measures taken by other international events, PFF 2020 chose to cancel the event this year as a way of combating the spread of the virus and to ensure the safety and well-being of potential participants.

“Rest assured that together with our partners from both the private and public sectors, the safety and well-being of all attendees, partners, and staff are our priority,” Iturralde-Hamlin said/
She encouraged everyone to contribute to helping to flatten the curve “through continued strict physical distancing and in following the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and relevant government agencies. Let’s do our part in working together to fight and mitigate the impact of COVID-19.”
PFF 2020 did not indicate when will it push through or if there is still any intention of holding the event in the future.
