The Palawan Group of Companies (PGC), the company behind the PalawanPay e-wallet and Palawan Express Pera Padala (PEPP), has introduced Pera Padala Abroad, a new service that allows Filipinos to send money to other countries using their phones or by visiting a PEPP branch.
“With the launch of Pera Padala Abroad, we’re proud to be one of the first e-wallets in the country to offer outbound remittance, a step forward in making financial services more inclusive,” said Karlo Castro, president and CEO of PGC.
Pera Padala Abroad gives users the option to send money through the PalawanPay app or over-the-counter at more than 3,500 PEPP branches nationwide. The service supports transfers to bank accounts, e-wallets, or through cash pick-up in different countries.
Transaction fees start at ₱300, and funds can be sent in pesos and received in the recipient’s local currency or preferred currency. Real-time processing means recipients can receive the funds instantly after the sender gets the reference number.
The service is powered by Ria, a global remittance company with a presence in over 190 countries and more than 500,000 pick-up locations worldwide.
With this launch, PalawanPay becomes one of the few Philippine e-wallets offering international remittance, aiming to make money transfers simpler and more accessible, especially for those with families or friends living or working abroad.
