Palo Alto Networks has released Prisma AIRS 2.0, an updated version of its artificial intelligence security platform, and introduced other solutions as companies increase their use of artificial intelligence (AI) but struggle to manage the risks that come with it.
The cybersecurity company said many organizations are moving quickly to adopt AI tools, but only a small number have clear rules and protections in place. This gap can expose systems, data, and users to new threats. Prisma AIRS 2.0 is designed to help organizations secure AI applications from the early development stage through day-to-day use.
Prisma AIRS 2.0 now includes technology from Protect AI, which Palo Alto Networks recently acquired. The platform aims to protect AI models, automated agents, data, and user interactions in one system. It checks how AI behaves during development and continues monitoring it when it is already running in production. This helps companies see where risks exist and respond before problems grow.
The platform also uses automated testing methods to regularly challenge AI systems and find weaknesses. According to the company, this approach helps security teams understand how AI tools could be misused or attacked and apply controls early.
As part of the update, Palo Alto Networks introduced Cortex AgentiX, a platform designed to help organizations manage AI-powered agents, starting with security operations centers. These AI agents can help security teams investigate alerts, analyze threats, and take action faster. The goal is to reduce the time it takes to respond to incidents and lessen the amount of manual work required from analysts.
Cortex AgentiX builds on Palo Alto Networks’ earlier automation tools and includes more than 1,000 built-in integrations with common enterprise systems. This allows organizations to connect the platform with their existing tools without major changes. The company said the platform is trained on a large number of past security responses to help guide decisions and actions.
Palo Alto Networks also announced Cortex Cloud 2.0, an update to its cloud security platform. As companies expand their use of cloud services and AI-driven workloads, security teams often deal with fragmented tools and delayed risk detection. Cortex Cloud 2.0 combines threat detection, posture management, and automated response into a single platform.
The updated cloud platform includes AI agents that can automatically investigate and fix security issues, helping reduce the time risks remain unresolved. A redesigned command center gives security teams a clearer view of cloud assets, risks, and active threats across different cloud providers.
Cortex Cloud 2.0 also introduces a performance-optimized security agent that can reduce system resource use while providing real-time protection. In addition, a strengthened application security module helps developers find and fix issues in code before software is released, which is generally faster and less costly than fixing problems after deployment.
With Prisma AIRS 2.0, Cortex AgentiX, and Cortex Cloud 2.0 updates, Palo Alto Networks aims to help organizations adopt AI and cloud technologies while keeping security controls in place and easier to manage.
