PLDT Inc. said it is ready to support government agencies as the Philippines implements Executive Order (EO) No. 119, which requires government data to be stored and managed under a new data residency framework.
The order is expected to strengthen the protection of sensitive government information by keeping critical data within the country. It also supports the government’s digital transformation and cybersecurity efforts.
PLDT said years of investments in local digital infrastructure have positioned the company to meet the expected increase in demand for secure data hosting, cloud services, and AI infrastructure from the public sector.

The company’s digital infrastructure business, led by ePLDT Inc. and VITRO REIT Inc., operates the country’s largest live colocation data center network, with about 34 megawatts of available IT-ready capacity spread across multiple facilities nationwide as of April 15, 2026, based on independent market research. The network has supported enterprises for more than 25 years.

He noted that the company is already hosting the critical data of the country’s data-driven government agencies, enterprises, and cloud and AI workloads.

Among PLDT’s local platforms are Pilipinas Cloud, introduced in 2023 to host sensitive government applications and data within the Philippines, and Pilipinas AI, launched in 2025 to help government agencies and enterprises adopt artificial intelligence without building their own infrastructure. Both platforms are designed to comply with Philippine data privacy regulations while keeping critical workloads inside the country.
The implementation of EO 119 is expected to increase demand for local data centers, sovereign cloud services, and AI platforms as government agencies align their systems with the new data residency requirements.
