The PLDT Group recently held the Ascend Cloud Tech Day sessions in Davao and Cagayan de Oro, to upskill more than 100 IT professionals from Mindanao. Organized by ePLDT, the tech forum highlighted advances in multi-cloud, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data center solutions.

This initiative, supported by PLDT Enterprise, the PLDT Group’s B2B arm, provided Mindanaoan businesses with insights into customized digital solutions essential for integrating technology into their operations. The sessions emphasized the importance of robust connectivity and protecting enterprises from the growing threat of cyber-attacks as they expand their online presence.

“Cloud tech now stands as the cornerstone of modern business operations,” said Reggie Regino, VP and chief sales officer at ePLDT. “Recognizing this, ePLDT, through our strategic partnerships with key cloud partners, is committed to empowering our customers to remain at the forefront of cloud tech and thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.”

Participants, including entrepreneurs and tech professionals, participated in the in-depth discussions on specific solutions tailored to their needs. Topics covered included Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Google Cloud Platform, Genesys Contact Center as a Solution, and Alibaba Cloud.

“Through this event, companies about to shift to digitalization will be properly guided in the process of adopting new technology, including ensuring security compliance,” said Shin Jabonga, data protection officer, First Community Cooperative based in Cagayan de Oro.
