PLDT Home is stepping up support for Filipina entrepreneurs this Women’s Month by expanding AI education and strengthening digital infrastructure, recognizing their growing influence in the Philippines’ tech-driven economy.

Recent data from the Philippine Commission on Women shows women own 66 percent of SMEs and lead 62 percent of newly registered businesses, highlighting their role in shaping the digital landscape. Many of these ventures, which started as small online businesses during the pandemic, have evolved into fully digital operations powered by fiber connectivity, online marketplaces, automated workflows, and AI-driven tools.

“Women entrepreneurs today are operating at the forefront of digital transformation,” said Menardo “Butch” Jimenez, Jr., COO AND CTO, PLDT. “Our goal is to ensure they have the connectivity, tools, and AI capabilities that allow them not only to keep up, but to lead. Connectivity is now the backbone of innovation and inclusion.”

High-speed fiber is now crucial for livestream commerce, digital payments, real-time order management, AI-assisted customer support, and cloud-based operations. PLDT Home continues to provide the reliability and bandwidth needed for women-led businesses to compete in a digital-first market.

A key example is Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH), a PLDT Home-supported community that has grown to more than 225,000 members nationwide. The group offers support, collaboration, and access to emerging technologies. Building on last year’s Gemini Academy with Google Philippines, PLDT Home and Google will relaunch advanced AI modules for MMPH, covering workflow automation, predictive insights, and responsible AI use.

PLDT Home will also honor women-led businesses at the 4th Gawad Madiskarte Awards on March 28, 2026, celebrating innovation-driven enterprises that create jobs and strengthen communities.

By expanding AI skills, enhancing connectivity, and fostering a tech-savvy community, PLDT Home aims to empower Filipina entrepreneurs to innovate, scale, and lead in an increasingly AI-powered economy.
