POCO has launched two new smartphones in the Philippines, the POCO M8 5G and POCO M8 Pro 5G, expanding its M Series into the mid-range segment. The company said the new models focus on everyday entertainment needs such as longer battery life, clearer screens, stable performance, and durable design, while keeping prices within reach of mainstream users.
The POCO M8 Pro 5G is the higher-end model in the lineup. It comes with a 6,500mAh battery designed for long daily use, paired with 100W fast charging. POCO said the phone can also charge other devices through reverse charging, which can be useful for accessories such as earbuds. Battery management features are built in to help maintain charging safety and efficiency over time.
For viewing and gaming, the POCO M8 Pro 5G uses a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. The screen supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and is designed to stay visible even under bright sunlight. Audio comes from dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support, aimed at clearer sound when watching videos or playing games without headphones.
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, which POCO said improves app performance and multitasking compared with earlier M Series models. It also includes a liquid cooling system to manage heat during longer gaming sessions. Connectivity features include 5G support, improved signal tuning, and offline voice communication for short-range calls in low-signal areas. The device runs Xiaomi HyperOS and supports Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
For photography, the POCO M8 Pro 5G has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 32MP front camera. It supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second. Built-in AI tools are included for photo editing and motion capture.
In terms of build, the POCO M8 Pro 5G uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and carries multiple dust and water resistance ratings, including IP66 and IP68. The phone is 8.31 mm thick and weighs about 206 grams.
The standard POCO M8 5G is designed as a lighter and slimmer option. It features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and dual speakers with Dolby Atmos. The device runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor and is backed by a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
The POCO M8 5G has a 50MP rear camera and a 20MP front camera, with support for 4K video recording. It also includes AI-based photo editing features. The phone weighs 178 grams and has an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance.
