Rackspace Technology, an end-to-end provider of hybrid multicloud technology solutions, has collaborated with Straits Interactive, a data protection and governance as-a-service company, to introduce an AI Data Protection Officer (DPO) Assistant within Foundry for AI by Rackspace (FAIR) on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to promote responsible AI use by harnessing Rackspace Technology’s multicloud solutions integrated with Microsoft Azure OpenAI Generative Service.
“The collaboration with Rackspace and Microsoft, Straits Interactive aims to expedite the adoption of generative AI among subject matter experts in small and medium enterprises,” said Kevin Shepherdson, CEO of Straits Interactive. “The Capabara platform and the AI Assistant chatbot enhance and streamline Straits’ efficiency and productivity.”

Straits Interactive and Rackspace Technology will jointly offer solutions that integrate AI-enabled multicloud capabilities, merging Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service with Microsoft Purview for data governance, as part of its Capabara Capability-as-a-Service platform services. These integrated solutions will empower organizations to leverage generative AI for business transformation.
Chatbot
The AI DPO Assistant, one of the first in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, is a chatbot powered by generative AI, part of Straits Interactive’s suite of services within Capabara. The Capabara platform is a proprietary Capability-as-a-Service solution, provides comprehensive tools for organizations to develop, govern, and manage digital transformation goals while ensuring the safe and responsible use of generative AI.
Shepherdson noted that Rackspace Technology’s secure multicloud solutions and Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service align perfectly with our objective to empower organizations of all sizes to extract value from generative AI while effectively managing risks, safeguarding their data, and maintaining compliance.
The AI DPO Assistant chatbot assists organizations, particularly SMEs, in understanding data governance and navigating data protection requirements. Built on the Microsoft Azure Open AI Service, the chatbot securely stores data in a multicloud environment provided by Rackspace Technology.
AI DPO Assistant
The AI DPO Assistant will enable clients and service providers to efficiently access industry best practices and procedures across multiple jurisdictions. It will also allow governance teams to securely upload Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRMC) documents and provide self-help assistance to employees throughout the organization.
The chatbot will also be able to collaborate with consultants from Straits Interactive to achieve operational compliance with data protection requirements, customizing these based on company policies, associated risks, and recommended operational controls.
It will utilize generative AI capabilities to develop customized in-house generative AI apps using Straits Interactive AI Capability tools. These apps may include tabletop exercises for breach scenarios, self-learning compliance modules, assessment questions, and more.
