Samsung Electronics has expanded the language support of Galaxy AI to 22, adding Filipino and Gujarati to its lineup. Filipino is spoken by about 87 million people, while Gujarati is used by around 62.5 million globally.

Samsung said the addition aims to make Galaxy AI more accessible to users in the Philippines and India.

“We are very excited to witness how Galaxy AI is becoming more integrated into the lives of Filipinos — in creative and productive ways,” said Jun Guevara, head of Mobile Experience for Samsung Electronics Philippines. “Our goal remains the same: develop meaningful AI technology that truly makes the lives of our users better.”

According to a consumer study conducted from August to September 2025, 40% of Filipinos found the AI tool’s Live Translate and Call Assist features appealing. Samsung also reported a double-digit increase in local interest in Galaxy AI during the same period.

Globally, Samsung said more than 70% of Galaxy S25 users regularly use Galaxy AI and Google Gemini features, while nearly half of smartphone users now rely on AI in their daily activities.

Since debuting with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy AI has been gradually expanding. After reaching 200 million devices in 2024, Samsung expects the platform to reach over 400 million devices by the end of 2025.

Samsung’s AI tool offers several tools aimed at improving communication and productivity. Live Translate provides real-time voice and text translations during calls, while Interpreter allows instant face-to-face translation through a split-screen view. Chat Assist helps users craft messages in different tones, Note Assist generates summaries and templates for quick organization, and Transcript Assist can record and summarize meetings or lectures. Browsing Assist shortens long articles into easy-to-read summaries.

Samsung said these features were developed using linguistic and regional insights to make the AI adapt naturally to local communication styles. The Filipino and Gujarati language packs were created in collaboration with Samsung Research centers in Indonesia and India.

The new languages are now available for download through the Settings app on supported Galaxy devices.
