Samsung Philippines is officially taking the lead to expand its local esports initiatives by sponsoring the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League in the Philippines starting Feb. 18, 2022.
The new season will bring more challenges to gamers nationwide while featuring well-known esports players like Bren Esports, ECHO, Smart Omega, Nexplay EVOS, TNC Pro, RSG Philippines, ONIC PH, and the defending champion Blacklist International.
Quoting a study by the Global Web Index, Samsung Philippines said mobile gaming apps registered the highest growth usage in the Philippines at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic because of the government-imposed lockdowns. In addition, 98% of Filipinos aged 16 to 64 own a smartphone and from these users, 72% are into mobile gaming. From these gaming apps, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang took the top spot based on active users.
