Samsung will begin releasing the One UI 7 update in April, starting with the Galaxy S24 series and later expanding to more Galaxy smartphones and tablets, including the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6.

The update brings a redesigned look and added features that aim to make Galaxy devices easier and more personal to use. One UI 7 introduces a new design centered on simplicity, with updates to the home screen, widgets, and lock screen. These changes help users customize their devices in more intuitive ways.

The new Now Bar feature adds useful, real-time updates directly on the lock screen. Users can check workout progress or see what music is playing on their Galaxy Buds without unlocking their phones.

One UI 7 also improves how users interact with their devices using AI. Galaxy AI tools are built into the system to assist with daily tasks. For example, AI Select recommends actions based on what the user is doing. While watching a video, a user can easily turn a scene into a GIF using the Edge Panel.

Using artificial intelligence

Writing Assist can summarize or format text, and Drawing Assist helps users create content by combining sketches, images, or text prompts. Audio Eraser can remove background noise in videos, making edits easier to manage.

Samsung also worked closely with Google to improve how users talk to their phones. With Google Gemini, users can press and hold the side button to ask for help, such as finding a nearby restaurant. The device responds in a single step.

Users can now search settings using simple phrases. Typing “My eyes are feeling tired” brings up options like dimming the screen or enabling eye comfort mode.

The One UI 7 update will first arrive on select models in the Philippines this April. More Galaxy devices will receive the update in the coming weeks, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and several Galaxy Tab models.
