Samsung unveils Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G with AI features

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. introduced the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G, bringing AI-driven features, upgraded cameras, and improved durability to the mid-range Galaxy A series.

The new smartphones will be available in the Philippines starting March 17 in Samsung Experience Stores and partner retailers, with online availability beginning March 24.

The highlight of the latest Galaxy A models is the inclusion of “Awesome Intelligence,” an AI-driven suite of tools designed to make everyday tasks easier. Powered by One UI 7.0, these features enhance search and editing functions while improving user experience.

A key AI-powered tool is Circle to Search, a Google feature that lets users search for anything on their screen by simply circling it. Now, it can also recognize phone numbers, email addresses, and website links, allowing users to take action instantly. The feature can also identify songs playing in the background without switching apps, making it more convenient for music lovers.

Camera upgrades for content creation

Both models feature a triple-camera system, led by a 50MP main sensor. The Galaxy A56 5G has a 12MP ultra-wide camera, while both devices offer a 10-bit HDR front camera for detailed selfies.

The Galaxy A56 5G includes “Best Face,” an AI feature that lets users swap expressions in group photos, ensuring everyone looks their best. It also improves night photography with Low Noise Mode, which enhances selfies and wide shots in low-light conditions.

Another AI-powered tool is Object Eraser, which allows users to remove unwanted elements from photos with just a few taps. Filters can also be customized by extracting colors and styles from existing images, helping users create a consistent aesthetic.

Longer software support and durable design

Samsung is extending software support for the new Galaxy A series, offering six generations of Android OS and One UI updates, along with six years of security updates. This ensures users will receive the latest features and protection for years.

Both phones come with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, delivering up to 1,200 nits of brightness for a clearer viewing experience. Stereo speakers enhance audio quality, providing a more immersive entertainment experience.

The devices also have an IP67 rating, making them resistant to dust and water. A Corning Glass cover adds extra durability to protect against scratches and minor drops.

Performance and battery life

Both smartphones pack a 5,000mAh battery, supporting 45W fast charging with Super Fast Charge 2.0 technology. The Galaxy A56 5G is powered by the Exynos 1580 chipset, while the Galaxy A36 5G runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. A larger vapor chamber ensures better heat management for gaming and multitasking.
