A study by Samsung Electronics, which surveyed over 2,600 Southeast Asian consumers, found that many Filipinos are eager to buy AI-powered smartphones and home appliances, drawn to their ability to make everyday tasks simpler and more efficient.

Filipinos see AI as a tool for productivity and creativity, using it mainly for writing, language translation, and problem-solving. The study found that 44% of Filipino users rely on AI for writing, compared to 32% in the rest of Southeast Asia. Also, 42% use it for translations, and 39% for problem-solving — both figures exceeding regional averages.

“(Improvements in our Galaxy Series devices) reinforce Samsung’s leadership in the AI field and our commitment to making the benefits of AI more accessible to Filipinos,” said Jun Guevara, head of Mobile Experience, Samsung Electronics Philippines.
