Saudi Arabian esports teams Twisted Minds (TWIS) and Team Falcons (FLCN) are set to compete in the Philippine Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) for its 15th season. Their inclusion completes the eight franchise teams competing in the country’s longest-running esports league.

“This partnership aligns with our mission to grow the ecosystem through overseas collaborations and potentially position the Philippines as an esports business hub,” Matthew Chan, head of Operations, Moonton Games PH Esports.

“The Philippines is the strongest region for MLBB players from a competitive point of view,” said Grant Rousseau, global director of Esports at Team Falcons. “After testing the waters with AP Bren, we are now ready to establish our own franchise and aim for success.”

Rousseau added that the organization plans to create a Southeast Asia department in the Philippines to enhance fan engagement.

For Twisted Minds, this will be their first entry into the local esports scene. Founder and CEO Ibrahim Bin Jibreen emphasized their goal of forming a championship-caliber team while providing opportunities for Filipino talent.

“We want to compete at the highest level and believe the Philippines is the right place to be,” Jibreen said.

Saudi Arabia, known for hosting the Esports World Cup, has been actively promoting global esports. MLBB is among its featured games, offering both men’s and women’s divisions.

MPL PH Season 15 will begin in March 2025, with more details on tickets, matches, and rosters expected to be announced soon.
