Smart Communications Inc. (Smart), a mobile services provider, has launched the Smart Home WiFi SIM 99, a P99 prepaid SIM that can be used with compatible Home WiFi routers.
The SIM is designed for open-line Home WiFi routers and Smart or PLDT Home WiFi devices with expired or inactive SIM cards. It allows households and small businesses to reuse their existing routers instead of buying new equipment.
Smart Home WiFi SIM 99 comes with 2GB of non-expiring data. Users can also subscribe to Smart Home WiFi BIG DATA and UNLI offers based on how much data they need.
The product may appeal to households in areas without fiber internet, as well as renters, students, and small businesses that need a connection without a long-term contract or fixed-line installation. A Home WiFi router can connect several phones, laptops, tablets, and other devices to one mobile data connection.
The SIM is 5G-ready, although actual speeds will depend on the router, network coverage, location, and other conditions. Customers using a 5G-compatible Home WiFi router in an area with Smart 5G coverage can access the company’s 5G network.
Users must register the SIM through Smart’s official SIM registration portal before activating the service. They can monitor their data and register for Home WiFi offers through the Smart App.
