VinFast announced a global expansion plan for its electric scooter business, naming the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia as its first key markets. The move is part of the company’s plan to grow its green mobility ecosystem outside Vietnam.

The Vietnamese electric vehicle maker said it will roll out its e-scooter lineup in the five countries, which it identified as having strong demand for urban transport and growing interest in sustainable mobility.

“We have conducted in-depth market research, worked closely with local partners, and developed comprehensive plans for dealer network expansion, product portfolios, and service ecosystems,” said Vo Thi Cam Tu, managing director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market. “Through collaboration with reputable dealers and strategic partners worldwide, VinFast is committed to delivering smart, sustainable, and accessible electrified mobility solutions, contributing meaningfully to the green transformation of transportation in diverse markets.”

VinFast plans to introduce battery-swapping e-scooters, including the VinFast Flazz, VinFast Evo, VinFast Feliz II, and VinFast Viper. The company said the models will be adjusted to match local riding conditions and consumer needs. Additional models are also expected in the future.

The Philippines is the first market in the expansion program. VinFast partnered with Maverick Racing Factory Inc., MotorCentral, New Nemar Development Corp., Supremebike Corporation, and ARC Trading to establish a retail and service network across Luzon and Mindanao.

The company aims to build hundreds of retail outlets across the five markets by 2027. Its expansion model includes partnerships with dealers, service centers, financing providers, and energy infrastructure operators. VinFast is also working with V-Green to support charging and battery-swapping systems.

The expansion builds on VinFast’s domestic performance in Vietnam, where the company delivered 406,453 e-scooters in 2025. It currently offers more than 10 models supported by charging and battery-swapping options.

VinFast also completed its product plan for three e-scooter categories: mainstream, premium, and sport. It recently launched seven new premium and sport models as part of this strategy.
