Telecommunications infrastructure firm VITRO Inc., a subsidiary of ePLDT under the PLDT Group, has announced that all its flagship data centers have achieved Rated 3 certification for both design and facility under the TIA-942 global standard.

At the center of this development is VITRO Santa Rosa (VSR), which the company describes as the country’s first AI-ready, hyperscale data center. The facility has held its TIA-942 Rated 3 Design Certification since June 2023.

“These milestones go beyond design validation; they demonstrate VITRO’s long-standing leadership in building and operating world-class data centers at scale,” said Victor Genuino, president and CEO of ePLDT and VITRO Inc.

With a power capacity of 50 megawatts and more than 4,500 racks, VSR is designed to support high-performance computing and AI workloads. Genuino said the facility “is hyperscale by design and AI-ready by infrastructure,” supporting enterprises looking to innovate using cloud and AI technologies.

VSR is located outside Metro Manila’s hazard zones and is carrier-neutral, providing access to seven major telcos and carriers. Earlier this year, it began hosting ePLDT’s Nvidia-powered GPU servers, enabling enterprise clients to access AI computing resources without needing to invest in their own physical infrastructure. This full-stack AI solution addresses data sovereignty, security, and low-latency needs.

“Our goal has always been to position the Philippines as a digital and AI innovation hub,” said Manuel V. Pangilinan, chair of PLDT. “With VITRO Santa Rosa and our broader data center ecosystem, we are building the infrastructure backbone needed to power industries, accelerate AI adoption, and drive long-term national progress.”

VSR is connected to PLDT’s domestic fiber network and international subsea cable systems, including Jupiter, Asia Direct Cable, and the upcoming Apricot, supporting global connectivity and network resilience.
