Voyager Innovations (Voyager), the digital unit of PLDT-Smart Communications, through its digital financial services arm PayMaya Philippines, received three three Excellence Awards and four Merit Awards from this year’s 17th Philippine Quill Awards Night held over the weekend.
The Quill Awards is an annual recognition program organized by the International Association of Business Communications. It is one of the most awaited events in the Public Relations industry as entries are rigorously screened by seasoned PR practitioners in the country.
Voyager received an Excellence Award for its Voyager Innovations Investment Round campaign after it successfully concluded its first investment round raising the largest funding to date for any technology company in the country. Voyager now counts global private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts Co. (KKR), tech giant Tencent Holdings Ltd., World Bank’s IFC, and the IFC Emerging Asia Fund as investors together with telecommunications leader PLDT.
Smart Padala by PayMaya, a domestic remittance network, received an Excellence Award for its Milyun-Milyong Tiwala campaign, which aims to empower its wide network of agent partners to become digital hubs in their communities.
Voyager was also given the Excellence Award for its Inclusive Digital Finance Report thought leadership publication series, which highlights addressable points on accelerating financial inclusion in the Philippines through digital technologies.
PayMaya, the digital financial services arm of Voyager, won four Merit Awards for the following campaigns: #PayMayaPaMore: Giving Filipinos 10 million reasons to pay cashless using PayMaya; Accelerating digital payments adoption through PayMaya’s cashless communities campaign; PayMaya and OXFAM’s iAFFORD card for building economic resilience in the face of disasters through innovative digital financial services; and PayMaya Cares: Revolutionizing customer care in the digital era.
