Filipinos will soon be able to send and receive money from abroad at about 1,400 JuanPay outlets across the Philippines through a new partnership with Western Union.
The service will be useful for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families, especially those who live far from banks or Western Union branches. Instead of traveling to another town or city, customers may be able to complete their international money transfers at a participating JuanPay outlet closer to home.
“Our collaboration with Western Union brings together global connectivity and JuanPay’s community-based approach to access. Ultimately, this is about making trusted financial services more accessible and convenient for every Juan,” said Rico Fernando Chico, chair of ACM Group of Companies.
JuanPay is a subsidiary of ACM Group of Companies. It has outlets in provincial areas and communities where many families have relatives working overseas. Many of its locations are run by local Filipino business owners.
JuanPay outlets already handle everyday services such as bills and loan payments, government transactions, pharmacy services, and other consumer needs. Adding Western Union will allow customers to manage international money transfers at the same place.
The first rollout will cover about 1,400 selected locations from JuanPay’s wider network of 2,000 company-owned and franchised outlets. Western Union and JuanPay plan to gradually bring the service to more locations.
Customers should check whether their nearest JuanPay outlet is included once the companies announce the participating branches.
Western Union allows customers to send and receive money across more than 200 countries and territories. The company also operates an upgraded mobile app in the Philippines, which was launched in October 2025 with features for sending and requesting money.
“The partnership with JuanPay serves the purpose of being where customers are,” said Vince Tallent, senior vice president and head of APAC for Western Union.
He also noted that physical outlets remain important for customers who want face-to-face assistance or have limited internet access.
For OFWs, the partnership provides another place where they can direct money transfers to their families. For recipients in the Philippines, it could mean a shorter trip and easier access to in-person assistance when collecting money from abroad.
