Logistics and sea travel company 2GO has partnered with The Mind Museum to bring the Mind Rover to Puerto Princesa, Palawan, continuing their joint effort to make science more accessible in island communities.

Ahead of the Mind Rover’s arrival, passengers of MV 2GO St. Francis Xavier sailing from Manila to Puerto Princesa and Coron joined interactive, science-themed activities over the weekend. Curated by The Mind Museum, the sessions featured STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) concepts designed to make the journey more meaningful for both children and adults.

“Through this partnership, we are able to impact more communities and hopefully encourage more kids to have an inspired engagement and view of science or maybe, even take up STEM in the future,” said Maria Isabel Garcia, managing director and curator of The Mind Museum. “We even get to reach more audiences as we also do science shows on board 2GO.”

This marks the Mind Rover’s third stop through 2GO’s network, following visits to Bacolod and General Santos. In each location, the initiative aims to inspire curiosity and encourage young Filipinos to consider careers in science and innovation.

“By mounting the Mind Rover exhibit aboard our ships, in partnership with The Mind Museum, we’re creating a space for families to explore themes of sea travel, sustainability, and basic science while in transit,” said Francis Chua, head of the business unit of 2GO Travel.

Resident scientists Jose Mario Salazar and Lisa Monica Maureal led the onboard activities on the trip to Puerto Princesa.

The Mind Rover is a 12-meter mobile museum equipped with interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and science shows. It is designed to bring learning beyond museum walls and reach underserved communities.

With operations across 19 ports, 2GO said the collaboration reflects its goal of connecting people, fostering creativity, and supporting nation-building.
