According to the latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), over 90 million Filipinos are registered in the National ID program. As of Sept. 19, 2024, the total number of registered individuals reached 90,017,181, which represents 97.8% of the PSA’s target of 92 million for this year.

“This milestone gives the PSA an impetus to continue fulfilling its mandate to register every Filipino in the National ID system,” PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa said in a media advisory.

Mapa emphasized that efforts will persist to make registration both easy and accessible while promoting the National ID as a valid proof of identity.

To support the registration of young children, the PSA launched the Rehistro Bulilit campaign. This initiative uses mascots, colorful visuals, and child-friendly videos to help children ages 1 to 4 feel comfortable during the process. One such effort took place in Samar, where children from Canlapwas Daycare Center in Catbalogan City were registered through the campaign at a local covered court. Similar activities were held in other areas, such as the Lambao Daycare Center in Santa Margarita.

In other provinces, the PSA extended its reach through house-to-house registrations. In Pangasinan’s Barangay Domalandan Center, the team even registered a 99-year-old bedridden resident. In Guimaras, mobile teams traveled by boat to the remote island barangay of Guiwanon, enabling residents to easily sign up for their National IDs.

The PSA has also partnered with institutions like the House of Representatives to make registration services accessible, allowing officials and staff to register on-site without disrupting their work.
