AMD brings new ray-tracing feature to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Semiconductor company AMD has enabled the first feature of its FSR “Redstone” technology, called Ray Regeneration, in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 for Radeon RX 9000 Series GPUs. The update enhances lighting and reflections in the game, allowing players to see more accurate and detailed visuals, such as reflections in water or other surfaces.

Ray Regeneration uses a neural network to clean up noisy ray-traced data and restore full-quality lighting and reflections. The process improves the visual detail while keeping the game performance smooth. AMD says it also sharpens visuals before upscaling, making gameplay clearer and more realistic.
