Biwin has introduced the CL100 Mini SSD, an ultra-compact storage device designed to support computing tasks that require faster data transfer and smaller hardware components.
The CL100 Mini SSD measures 15.0 mm by 17.0 mm by 1.4 mm, about the size of a coin. The device uses PCIe 4.0 x2 and Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) 1.4 technology and delivers read speeds of up to 3,700 MB/s and write speeds of up to 3,400 MB/s. It is available in storage capacities of up to 2 TB.
Biwin said the CL100 uses Land Grid Array (LGA) packaging technology that combines the controller and flash memory modules into a smaller design. The compact build allows manufacturers to use the storage in ultra-thin laptops, mini PCs, and handheld gaming devices.
The company also introduced the RD510 Mini SSD Reader, which is designed to work with the CL100. The reader uses USB 4.0 connectivity and supports read speeds of up to 3,300 MB/s and write speeds of up to 3,000 MB/s. It comes with a USB Type-C to Type-C cable and supports devices running Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and PlayStation 5.
The RD510 reader features a slot-in mechanism similar to a SIM card tray, allowing users to install the CL100 quickly. The setup supports plug-and-play access, enabling data transfer across laptops, desktops, gaming consoles, and mobile devices.
Biwin said the CL100 Mini SSD is built for durability and reliability. The device carries an IP68 rating for dust and water protection and can withstand drops of up to three meters. The company said the product is designed for tasks such as gaming, high-definition video editing, and managing artificial intelligence (AI) datasets.
Biwin said the CL100 Mini SSD and RD510 Mini SSD Reader are designed to provide a portable storage option for users handling large files and high-performance workloads.
