Technology company Lenovo launched the latest IdeaPad 5 laptops — IdeaPad 5G, IdeaPad 5 Pro, and IdeaPad 5i Pro — ahead of the annual Consumer Electronics Show 2021 (CES2021). The devices promise lightning-fast speed performance for work and leisure.
The new Lenovo IdeaPad 5G is powered by the leading Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G compute platform and utilizes powerful Qualcomm Adreno 680 graphics and the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 Modem-RF system for connectivity. Built with a unique focus on performance, Lenovo said users can do all sorts of tasks on the laptop with speeds up to 10 times faster than 4G, through a 5G service provider.
Future owners of the IdeaPad 5G can download large files in a flash and stream shows with the clarity of Full HD through its 14-inch (1920 x 1080) IPS display that’s 300 nits bright for a rich picture with 100% sRGB quality color. It also offers up to 8GB LPDDR4X memory and 512GB of PCIe SSD storage.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 5G is designed with an infrared (IR) camera for added security, which is located atop the razor-thin borders for a roomy 90% screen ratio meant for expansive panel viewing. Positioned as ultraportable, the laptop weighs 2.6 lbs (1.2 kilograms) and measures 0.59 inches (14.9 millimeters) thin with a 51WHr battery, plus Rapid Charge Express.
Where 5G is unavailable, Lenovo assures that they could still enjoy more security and dependability through its 4G LTE connectivity, which comes default on the new IdeaPad 5G laptop.
The 14-inch IdeaPad 5G is expected to be available in select markets, not available in North America at this time. Pricing will vary per market.
Lenovo IdeaPad 5i Pro and IdeaPad 5 Pro
Touted as Lenovo’s most powerful IdeaPad laptops yet, the IdeaPad 5i Pro (14-inch) and IdeaPad 5 Pro (16-inch) are designed with an all-metal chassis exterior with muted and minimalist colors of Cloud Grey and Storm Grey. For the first time on a Lenovo IdeaPad laptop, the display is offered with a wider 16:10 aspect ratio to better accommodate for multitasking with Windows.
The less bezel on all sides allowed the laptops to have a 90% screen-to-body ratio and 100 percent sRGB quality., The IdeaPad 5i Pro (11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor) and IdeaPad 5 Pro (will soon be available with next-gen AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors) deliver stable Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
The laptop is set to Intelligent Cooling Mode by default to help users leverage balanced artificial intelligence-enhancements to optimize battery life. Users can shift their laptop’s performance by using the Lenovo Q-Control. Just press Fn+Q to go up to Maximum Performance mode or down into Battery Saving mode.
Users can now enjoy a larger trackpad over previous generations, plus the bouncier feel of soft-landing switches via the improved keyboard with optional backlighting. Experience quality entertainment and immerse yourself in a whole new world of sound with Dolby Atmos and sharp imagery of the up to 2.8K high-definition display resolution offered across the 14-inch laptop models.
