Cisco and PLDT Enterprise brought future-of-work conversations to Cebu during the second leg of Tech Week PH 2025, marking the first time the event was held in the Visayas region.
PLDT Enterprise, the business arm of PLDT Inc., gathered industry leaders, government stakeholders, and technology experts to discuss how digital tools like AI, cybersecurity, and next-generation networks can support regional growth and business resilience.
“The workplace also doesn’t function without a secure, intelligent network that powers seamless connectivity, zero-trust security, and real-time collaboration,” said Pavel Svatos, partner networking specialist at Cisco for Asia Pacific, Japan, and China.
He emphasized the growing role of artificial intelligence in everyday operations, pointing to AI-driven tools such as customer chatbots, healthcare systems, and mobile data centers. But he also warned that businesses must keep up.
Svatos explained that while work now happens anywhere, from offices and hospitals to stores and moving vehicles, many companies still struggle with outdated systems and rising security risks.
“At Cisco, our strategy is to securely connect everything to make anything possible,” said Zaza Soriano-Nicart, managing director, Cisco Philippines. “We’re not just connecting people, places, apps, data, and things wherever our networks can reach. We’re also protecting all of this against threats, downtime, and risk and providing the underlying digital resilience that is so crucial for businesses today.”
PLDT Enterprise’s Tech Week PH also featured “Tech City,” an interactive showcase of real-world applications from Cisco and other partners. The exhibit was designed to show how advanced technologies can be used in everyday business operations, regardless of location.
The series now heads to Metro Manila for its final chapter, which is expected to feature the most extensive lineup of participants and technology solutions.
