Fiber broadband and technology solutions provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has secured government support to speed up the development of its Angeles Data Center in Pampanga.

The Department of Trade and Industry-Board of Investments (DTI-BOI) granted the project a Green Lane Certificate of Endorsement, classifying it as a strategic investment under Executive Order No. 18.

The designation allows Converge, through its digital infrastructure arm Pentagon Digital Global Corp., to process permits and regulatory requirements across several government agencies at the same time. This could shorten the period needed to complete and open the multi-billion-peso data center.

The facility will support Converge’s expansion into data center services, enterprise cloud computing, and carrier-neutral colocation. Carrier-neutral facilities allow businesses to choose among different telecommunications and internet service providers instead of relying on only one network.

“Securing Green Lane status for our Angeles Data Center underscores the vital role digital infrastructure plays in nation-building,” said Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and co-founder of Converge. “With this strategic designation, we are eliminating regulatory friction to deploy resilient, world-class compute capacity faster. This facility isn’t just expanding our enterprise portfolio; it is building the core digital foundation required to power the Philippines’ booming digital economy.”

Located in Angeles City, Pampanga, the data center will be connected to Converge’s nationwide fiber-optic network. It is designed to handle rising business demand for cloud services, large computing workloads, and local data storage.

The project could help Converge generate more revenue from large companies and government organizations while reducing its dependence on the consumer broadband market.

“Investors are looking for predictability and ease of doing business, which is precisely what this endorsement provides,” said DTI Director and BOI Investments Assistance Center Head Ernesto De Los Reyes.

According to De Los Reyes, the government’s Green Lane program now covers ₱6.36 trillion worth of strategic investments.
