Broadband and technology company Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has announced changes in its executive team as part of its plan to stay focused on long-term growth and resilience.
Jesus “Boboy” Romero, the company’s chief operations officer (COO), will retire on June 30, 2025, after nearly a decade with Converge.
“Boboy has seen us through the bold entry of Converge in the broadband market, to the hypergrowth years during the pandemic, and we are truly grateful,” said Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and co-founder of Converge. “And now, as we leap into the future, we look forward to continuing to have Boboy as a supportive business partner.”
New COO named
Succeeding Romero is Benjamin Rex Emilio Azada, who will take over as COO starting July 1, 2025. He will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations.
“Converge is entering an exciting new era that will be defined by dynamic changes and innovations,” Uy said.
Azada has a background in industrial engineering and business administration and previously held senior roles at PwC Philippines and its Southeast Asia Consulting Practice. He joined Converge as chief strategy officer and was named chief commercial officer earlier in 2024.
Other leadership updates
Azada’s former duties in sustainability will be passed on to Laurice Esteban-Tuason, who is now the company’s corporate sustainability officer. She will continue serving as corporate compliance and data protection officer.
Esteban-Tuason was recently recognized as the Best Data Privacy Officer in her field by the Information Security Officers Group and completed her master’s degree in cybersecurity with high honors at the Asian Institute of Management.
Converge also named Christine Renee Blabagno as its chief risk officer, on top of her current role as treasurer. With more than 25 years in finance, including over a decade in telco leadership, Blabagno will now focus on managing strategic risks amid industry changes.
