Google Cloud has appointed Jennifer Ligones as its new country manager for the Philippines, tasked with leading local strategy and operations for Google Cloud and Google Workspace.
Ligones will work closely with Google teams to help Philippine organizations adopt cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. She reports to Mark Micallef, managing director of Google Cloud Southeast Asia, who oversees the enterprise, public sector, and corporate segments in the region.
“I look forward to expanding our local team and partner ecosystem to advance Google Cloud’s growth ambitions in the Philippines,” Ligones said. “Together, we can increase the scope and scale of our collaborations with the government and businesses.”
Ligones previously founded and led Third Pillar, an IT consulting and services firm, where she helped over 100 Filipino companies pursue digital transformation. She has also held leadership roles at SAP, SAS, and IBM during her 30-year career in the technology industry.
She said her focus at Google Cloud will be to promote greater understanding and adoption of its AI and cloud capabilities, such as supercomputing for large-scale AI, generative media models, and secure AI deployment tools. She also highlighted the role of training programs like Google Cloud Skills Boost in helping organizations deliver better digital services.
Google Cloud recently launched new Gemini models and Veo 3 on Vertex AI, contributed its Agent2Agent protocol to the Linux Foundation, and introduced a generative AI certification for non-technical learners as part of its ongoing efforts to help businesses gain value from AI.
