SAP Asia Pacific (APAC) has appointed Verena Siow as president for the region, placing a long-time company executive in charge of one of the software firm’s largest growth markets as businesses across Asia accelerate their adoption of cloud and artificial intelligence (AI).

Based in Singapore, Siow assumes the role effective immediately. She will oversee SAP’s operations across the region to help customers modernize their businesses, adopt cloud technologies, and get more value from their SAP software investments.

Siow has nearly 30 years of experience in the technology industry and has spent the last 15 years at SAP. Most recently, she served as Business Suite Leader APAC, where she led cloud growth initiatives and customer transformation programs. Before that, she was president and managing director for Southeast Asia.

“Our business is fueled by accelerated AI innovation, underpinned by our purpose, our people, and our partnerships. Verena brings deep regional expertise, focus on customer success, and exceptional leadership to this important growth market,” said Manos Raptopoulos, chief revenue officer for APAC, EMEA, and MEE.

Siow said organizations across the region are increasingly looking to AI to improve operations and stay competitive.

“It’s a pivotal time to take the reins at SAP Asia Pacific. Our vision for the Autonomous Enterprise, connecting data, processes, and people seamlessly, is delivering real outcomes for customers as they reinvent their businesses for the AI era,” she said.

SAP has a significant presence across the Asia Pacific region, with market units in Australia and New Zealand, Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. The company employs more than 50,000 people across 46 offices and SAP Labs locations in the region.

Its customer base includes major organizations such as NEC Corp., Coles Group, Wipro, Alibaba Group, Fujitsu Limited, Hyundai Motor Corporation, Fonterra, Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, and Asian Paints.
