Security Bank Corp. has appointed executive vice president John David “JD” Yap as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective June 13, 2026, as the bank strengthens its leadership team amid continued growth in its small and medium enterprise (SME) banking business.

Yap currently serves as EVP and head of the Business Banking Segment (BBS), one of the bank’s major growth drivers focused on SME clients. He will replace senior vice president Allen Reyes, whose last working day will be on June 12, 2026.

“JD has a strong record of building businesses, leading teams, and driving execution at scale,” said Victor Lee, president and CEO of Security Bank. “His appointment reflects the Bank’s continued focus on leadership continuity, disciplined growth, and long-term capability building.”

The leadership change comes as Security Bank continues to expand its SME banking operations, a sector seen as a key contributor to economic activity in the Philippines. SMEs account for more than 99% of businesses in the country, based on government data.

Under Yap’s leadership, Security Bank’s BBS received several awards in 2025, including Best Bank for SMEs in the Philippines from Asia Banking & Finance, FinanceAsia, and The Digital Banker.

As CFO, Yap will oversee financial planning, finance strategy, regulatory reporting, capital management, investor relations, sustainability initiatives, and other finance-related operations.

Yap has more than 25 years of experience in banking, finance, analytics, business development, and risk management. Before joining Security Bank, he held senior leadership roles in Singapore at Standard Chartered Bank, Fullerton Financial Holdings, United Overseas Bank, and Grab Finance.

Security Bank said Yap will continue overseeing the Business Banking Segment on an interim basis during the transition period. The bank added that governance and oversight measures remain in place to ensure business continuity.

The bank also said existing BBS operations and leadership teams will continue without disruption during the leadership transition.
