Tech giant Dell Technologies has introduced new additions to its AI Factory, designed to make AI adoption easier and more efficient for businesses. By expanding its lineup of PowerEdge servers, Dell aims to offer companies flexible AI solutions that help them stay competitive in the fast-paced tech landscape.

Dell’s new servers are built to handle the increasing demand for AI in business, especially as organizations look for ways to enhance their operations. The servers are powered by AMD’s latest processors, designed to offer better performance and efficiency. These upgrades are aimed at companies that need scalable AI solutions for different workloads, from simple data processing to complex AI models.

“By integrating AMD technology into the latest Dell servers, we’re providing the performance and efficiencies enterprises need today and in the future,” said Arthur Lewis, president of Dell Technologies’ Infrastructure Solutions Group. “Together with AMD, we are setting new standards in AI performance, giving enterprises powerful and cost-effective solutions essential for modern data-driven environments.”

PowerEdge Servers for AI workloads

Dell’s updated PowerEdge servers are designed to manage demanding AI workloads. The servers, including the PowerEdge XE7745, R6725, and R7725, offer configuration options, making them adaptable to different business needs. They are also built to handle large-scale data processing tasks, making them ideal for companies looking to optimize their AI deployments.

The PowerEdge XE7745, for example, supports up to eight GPUs, which helps improve performance for tasks such as AI model fine-tuning and data analytics.

“These platforms are designed to simplify AI deployments while improving overall performance and security,” said Forrest Norrod, executive vice president of AMD’s Data Center Solutions Group.

The new designs also include advanced cooling systems, which ensure the servers can run efficiently, even when dealing with high-power tasks. These upgrades are important for businesses that rely on consistent and stable performance, especially in industries where downtime could be costly.

Improved AI efficiency

Aside from handling demanding workloads, Dell’s new PowerEdge servers are built to be more energy-efficient. According to Dell, the servers consume up to 65% less CPU power than older models, while offering improved performance. This makes them a smart choice for companies looking to reduce their overall energy costs while maintaining high computing power.

The new PowerEdge XE7745 server will be available globally starting in January 2025, while other models, including the R6725 and R7725, will be released in November 2024. Dell is also expanding its generative AI solutions with AMD, which will be available by the end of 2024.
