The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has launched the Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub (BPESH), an expanded feature of the eGovPH app.

BPESH is designed as a one-stop digital hub where Filipinos can access select government services, such as requests for hospital financial aid, free legal consultations, and job-matching assistance.

“Through this system (eGovPH app), we are aspiring to have a true one-stop shop. We want to make government transactions easier for our citizens,” said Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during the launch at the San Juan National Government Center.

The DICT reported that the eGovPH app now has 40 million users and records between 70,000 and 100,000 downloads daily. So far, it integrates 70 national government services and is linked to 927 local government units.

“This initiative is proof of the government’s genuine concern for the public, a concrete step to make access to essential services of various agencies easier, faster, and more effective,” said DICT Secretary Henry Aguda.

Marcos also assured the public that the production of physical national identification cards will continue despite the push for digital services.

“There are still sectors in our society insisting on physical IDs, so we will continue producing those,” he said.

He noted, however, that the digital version of the national ID complements the eGovPH app by enabling remote access to services.

“With the digital ID, we are able to do all the things that the eGov app offers. You can do all that from the comfort of your home, at your office, or even while playing a game on your phone. If you have five minutes, you can get your paperwork done online,” he said.

As of the latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority, about 93.5 million out of 112.7 million Filipinos have registered for the national ID.
