Motorists can soon track traffic violations using eGovPH app

Motorists will soon be able to check their traffic violations through the eGovPH mobile app, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr. said during a press briefing in Malacañang that the agency is working with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to connect the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) violations system to the app.

“Once we have fully integrated the systems, motorists will be able to monitor their violations as well as pay the necessary penalties,” said Almirol. “When you open the eGovPH app, there is a button for penalties. When you click it, you can watch the video provided by the MMDA that shows the violation.”

The eGovPH app combines over a thousand government systems to make services more accessible. It allows users to complete transactions with different government agencies in one place.

Unifying traffic-related systems

Almirol said they are also working to include other traffic-related systems in the app. These include the MMDA’s single ticketing system and the Land Transportation Office’s Land Transportation Management System (LTMS).

“Our eGovDX system should also be visible to the LTO,” said Almirol. “So in the future, when someone renews their driver’s license, they won’t be allowed to proceed unless they pay any outstanding penalties. It’s a single-entry system, so all agencies are connected without having to share personal data.”

The DICT is also adding other government services to eGovPH, such as those from the Social Security System (SSS), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda), and various ID programs, including the National ID, Senior Citizen’s ID, and e-Health ID.
