DITO Telecommunity has launched a 5G home modem designed for online gaming, offering network priority, gaming optimization, and unlimited 5G data in one prepaid package.

The DITO Gaming Modem is currently available for ₱6,990, including 15 days of unlimited 5G data and ₱250 in Steam Wallet credits. After the introductory period, users can subscribe to 30 days of unlimited 5G for ₱1,490, with P50 in Steam Wallet credits.

DITO designed this offering for Filipino gamers who need a more stable and responsive internet connection but may not have access to, or want to install, a fixed broadband line. As a prepaid and wireless service, the modem can also serve users in rented homes, dormitories, and other locations where wired internet installation may be difficult.

The modem combines UNLI 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Network Priority, and Gaming Turbo. DITO said Gaming Turbo automatically adjusts the modem’s connection for gaming to help reduce delays and provide smoother gameplay. Network Priority is intended to give gaming traffic priority on the connection.

“Different communities have different connectivity needs. With DITO Gaming, we listened to what matters to gamers and built an experience around how they actually play,” said Atty. Adel Tamano, chief commercial officer of DITO Telecommunity.

DITO unveiled the gaming modem during its recent DATA MAXX MODE ON event. The launch is part of the telecommunications company’s plan to offer internet products based on how different groups use mobile data.

The modem also carries a design inspired by Team Liquid Philippines, including the esports team’s logo. Team Liquid Philippines is the first team in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines history to win three consecutive championships.

The partnership gives DITO a direct link to the local esports community as it competes with fixed broadband providers and other wireless home internet services.

“DITO Gaming reflects how we are building around real customer needs — bringing together the right technology and benefits to create more value for how gamers play,” said Miriam Choa, deputy chief revenue officer of DITO Telecommunity.
