Telecommunications company DITO Telecommunity received three global awards at the 2025 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, recognizing its contributions to 5G technology and digital services in the Philippines.
“For four years, we’ve been relentless in pursuing the right balance between providing next-gen products and services, while maintaining our value-for-money stance, to provide more digital access to millions of Filipinos nationwide,” said Eric Alberto, CEO of DITO Telecommunity. “Receiving these awards validate that we’ve reached a new level of operational excellence in 5G deployment, network speed, and performance.”
The company won the Best Digital Experience Platform award from Whale Cloud, the First Large-Scale RedCap FWA Commercial Deployment in the World award from Huawei Technologies, and the Fastest Mobile Network award from Opensignal.
Whale Cloud, a global technology provider, recognized DITO’s digital platform for its efficiency and innovation. Huawei acknowledged DITO’s role in advancing 5G RedCap technology through DITO Home WOWFi, a home WiFi service launched last year. Opensignal awarded DITO for having the fastest mobile network, recording a 5G download speed of 287.2 Mbps and an overall download speed of 34.6 Mbps.
DITO Home WOWFi runs on a standalone 5G network, making high-speed internet more accessible. The service is designed to bring 5G benefits, such as low latency and high data rates, to Filipino households.
Now in its fourth year, DITO continues to expand its network and introduce new digital solutions.
