DOH upgrades data dashboard to better manage COVID-19 monitoring

With the help of Info Alchemy Corp. and Microsoft, the Department of Health (DOH) recently upgraded its “DOH Data Collect (DDC) Dashboards” to provide timely information on various metrics such as bed capacities and service availability, COVID-19 commodities and supplies, and the vaccine administration program, among others.

Microsoft and Info Alchemy provided assistance to the DOH in scaling and implementing the dashboard into higher availability and higher reliability service level. The new system utilizes Microsoft Power BI, a cloud-based business analytics solution that empowers users to publish and customize interactive reports and analyze and visualize data for deeper insights.

“The dramatic surge of COVID-19 cases pushed DOH’s old system to its limits requiring quick reengineering to record and process real-time data from the different health facilities and vaccination sites throughout the Philippines,” said Dr. Enrique Tayag, director of DOH’s Knowledge Management and Information Technology Service, in a media release.
