The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in collaboration with TikTok Shop Philippines, hosted the “Camp Asenso” learning session to support Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in navigating the digital landscape.
Held at the DTI headquarters from June 24 to 25, the event saw participation from 380 MSMEs, in person and online.
Over the two-day program, participants gained practical insights on using TikTok Shop to drive business growth. Sessions included expert-led discussions on leveraging TikTok’s features for marketing and sales, complemented by a mock live selling session that demonstrated effective strategies for engaging customers.
“Let’s seize the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together. With the strengths of TikTok and the unwavering support of the DTI, we can propel our businesses to new heights,” said Undersecretary Cris Roque of the DTI-MSME Development Group.
Upskilling and digitalization
Roque urged the participants to fully utilize the resources and knowledge provided during the session.
As part of the initiative, each participant received a comprehensive seller kit from TikTok Shop. These kits were designed to kickstart their live-selling ventures and included mini tripods, LED lights, portable microphones, and various learning materials. Equipped with these tools, MSMEs can enhance their content production and connect with a broader audience, unlocking new opportunities in e-commerce.
“Camp Asenso” is part of the DTI’s broader efforts to elevate the capabilities of local enterprises and entrepreneurs. Through various initiatives focused on upskilling, digitalization, and industry development, the DTI aims to enhance the competitiveness of Filipino businesses and foster sustainable growth in the digital economy.
