EastWest, PayMongo partner to make online payments easier for businesses

EastWest x Paymongo

EastWest and PayMongo have entered into a partnership to make online payments simpler and more affordable for businesses in the Philippines.

EastWest clients can now integrate PayMongo’s online payment gateway into their operations. This allows them to accept payments through cards, e-wallets, and other digital channels. EastWest said the partnership includes preferential merchant discount rates (MDRs), which can help lower the cost of accepting digital payments, especially for small and medium enterprises.

“This partnership is about giving businesses the easier way to bank and transact,” said Jerry Ngo, CEO of EastWest. “By including PayMongo’s capabilities into our ecosystem, we are enabling easier online payments, faster settlement, and a smoother digital commerce experience, all at a cost that supports their growth.”

PayMongo said the collaboration will help extend digital payment tools to more Filipino entrepreneurs who are moving their businesses online or expanding their digital presence.

“We are pleased to partner with EastWest in broadening access to digital payment solutions for more Filipino entrepreneurs,” said Jojo Malolos, CEO of PayMongo. “By working together, we can offer tools that make digital transactions easier and support the operational needs of today’s entrepreneurs, while contributing to stronger digital financial infrastructure in the Philippines.”

The partnership comes as the local financial technology sector continues to grow, driven by wider use of online payments, digital banking services, and new ways for businesses to manage money electronically. Industry trends such as embedded finance, open banking, and new payment systems are changing how companies handle collections and settlements.

By linking banking services with a payment gateway, EastWest said it aims to simplify payment acceptance and settlement for its business clients. The bank added that closer alignment between payments and banking can help businesses manage cash flow more efficiently and reduce friction in daily transactions.

EastWest and PayMongo said they plan to explore additional areas of collaboration in the future. These include the possible use of technologies such as application programming interfaces (APIs), buy now, pay later (BNPL) options, and other digital payment tools that could support business operations.

Both companies said the goal is to help entrepreneurs run their businesses more smoothly by providing practical and accessible digital payment options, as more transactions shift online across the Philippine economy.
