The European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) 2024 concluded on Nov. 25 with the participation of more than 2,000 students, professionals, and university officials and faculty from across the Philippines.
Organized by the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines and the embassies and cultural institutes of EU Member States, the event took place on Nov. 22-23, with online sessions held on Nov. 25.
This year’s theme, “Pathways to Excellence,” highlighted the diverse educational opportunities in the European Union designed to equip Filipino students with the skills, knowledge, mindset, and transformative experiences needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving and increasingly interconnected global landscape.
The fair featured 77 higher education institutions and diplomatic missions from 14 EU Member States: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Finland, and Sweden.
On-site seminars hosted by EU Member States’ embassies and cultural institutes provided participants with insights into higher education systems, student life in the EU, research grants, and scholarship opportunities.
Language and cultural institutes in Manila, including Alliance Française, Goethe-Institut Philippines, Instituto Cervantes, and the Philippine-Italian Association, catered to attendees interested in learning foreign languages.

This year’s Philippine Regional Hubs included the University of Santo Tomas (Metro Manila), Wesleyan University (Luzon), and Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan (Mindanao). University partners were Ateneo de Manila University – European Studies Programme, De La Salle University, Enderun College, Holy Cross of Davao College, Lyceum Philippines University – Cavite, Mabalacat City College, University of the Cordilleras, and World Citi College.
The EHEF 2024 also received support from professional organizations such as the Philippine Communication Society and the European Studies Association of the Philippines. Media partners included Adobo Magazine, Backend News, The Daily Guardian, Gadgets Magazine, Iloilo Metropolitan Times, iOrbit News, Malaya Business Insight, Manila Bulletin, Mindanao Gold Star Daily, SEA Wave Pop Culture Magazine, Subselfie, The Daily Tribune, and When in Manila.
