Electronics company Epson introduced the WorkForce Enterprise AM-C400 and AM-C550, a new line of energy-efficient, compact mid-range A4 printers. These models aim to optimize office layouts without compromising productivity, catering to businesses’ growing demand for sustainable and efficient printing solutions.
A recent survey by Epson Southeast Asia, involving 1,500 office equipment decision-makers and end-users, revealed significant interest in sustainable printing. Half of the respondents expressed a desire for more sustainable printers in the workplace, while nearly 60% highlighted energy efficiency as the top priority. Also, 79% emphasized the importance of compact-sized printers for their workplace requirements.
The AM-C400 and AM-C550 offer print speeds of 40 and 55 pages per minute, respectively, even in duplex mode. These A4 models complement the A3 WorkForce Enterprise AM-C4000 and AM-C5000, launched in early 2023, and feature robust functionalities.
“Although laser printers are popular in Southeast Asia, their energy-intensive process can conflict with sustainability agendas,” said Noelle Gonzalez, head of Marketing Division at Epson Philippines. “The WorkForce Enterprise AM series, featuring Heat-Free technology, meets the need for eco-efficient solutions and aligns with Epson’s commitment to sustainable innovation.”

The new printers boast a C-shaped paper route for efficient high-speed printing and have a compact footprint of 465mm x 570mm, making them ideal for small offices and busy customer-facing environments. The Epson Solutions Suite enhances their functionality, offering software to improve document security, manage device fleets, reduce costs, and simplify workflows.
Powered by Heat-Free Technology, the AM series uses up to 85% less power compared to laser printers, reducing electricity bills and minimizing running costs. The printers feature a user-friendly front-loading design and a 10.1” touch panel, with eco-features such as a power consumption monitoring tool and duplex printing reminders.
