Seiko Epson Corp. (Epson) has sold over 100 million units of its high-capacity ink tank printers globally, a major achievement since launching the EcoTank line in 2010. First introduced in Indonesia, these printers are now available in 170 countries and regions.

Epson’s ink tank printers have gained popularity, especially in emerging markets, where users seek affordable and eco-friendly printing solutions. By replacing traditional cartridges with refillable ink tanks, Epson has addressed the need for lower costs and less environmental waste.

“High-capacity ink tank printers are fundamentally different from traditional cartridge models, and we faced many challenges in developing them,” said Noelle Gonzalez, head of Marketing Division at Epson Philippines. “But we persisted, driven by the desire to help customers print without hesitation by delivering a printer that provided minimal hassle, lower costs, and a reduced environmental impact.”

These printers have become a preferred choice for businesses and households in Asia, where demand for efficient and sustainable alternatives continues to grow. Epson has maintained a strong position in the global ink tank printer market, holding around 45% of shipments in the office and home inkjet segment.

In Southeast Asia, the company’s printers meet diverse user needs with accessible, eco-conscious technology.
