eTap Solutions, a provider of self-service payment kiosks, has opened its first physical store called My eTap Store in Makati City. Located at Unit D, L&M Building, Bautista corner Boyle Street, Palanan, the store offers customers direct access to the company’s financial services and kiosks.
At the store, users can top up e-wallets, pay bills, and access government services. Staff members, called store ambassadors, are present to assist walk-in users, especially those who are new to using digital payment tools.
“We want to be closer to our end users in any way we can. It’s nice to have a hub where users can immediately get in touch with company representatives and connect in-person for inquiries, explore our latest solutions firsthand, and share feedback directly,” said Paolo Lorenzo Macaraeg, head of marketing at eTap Solutions.
Going phygital to reach more users
The store follows a trend among fintech companies that now combine online tools with physical locations to improve user experience. This “phygital” approach aims to reach more people, especially those who prefer in-person support or are not yet comfortable with digital platforms.
“Digital inclusion doesn’t happen in a vacuum,” said Macaraeg. “eTap kiosks have millions of unique users, many of whom are first-time users of e-wallets or bill payment services. The store offers a hands-on, humanized way to introduce them to safer, faster, and more reliable financial transactions.”
Services for store partners and riders
Aside from offering services to the public, the store also supports eTap’s business partners. Through ePuhunan, store partners can deposit daily earnings to major banks. Riders can also send money to wallets like GrabPay and toktokwallet.
eTap Solutions currently operates over 4,000 kiosks and plans to add 2,000 more each year.
