EY Global Delivery Services (EY GDS), the shared services and technology arm of EY, is planning to grow its workforce in the Philippines to 10,000 professionals over the next five years, with expansion in both Manila and Cebu. The move underscores the company’s focus on technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and talent development to support its global operations.

EY GDS has made AI a key part of its strategy. Nearly all its employees have undergone AI training, while more than a thousand specialists are driving projects across tax, risk, and finance. Its EY.ai Agentic Platform powers domain-specific copilots and agents designed to improve precision and efficiency. The company said it follows a responsible approach to AI by prioritizing governance, transparency, and ethical use.

“AI is fundamentally reshaping how we deliver value to clients,” said Mon Go, consulting leader of EY GDS Philippines. “It’s not just about automation, but it’s also about augmenting human potential. Our Human + Digital + AI model is already transforming how we work and we’re just getting started.”

To strengthen its talent pool, EY GDS has rolled out initiatives such as the Distinguished Technologist Program, AI Academy, and Innovate Hackathon. These projects have raised AI literacy across the organization, while programs like Digiversity and Future Skills are equipping early-career professionals with expertise in VBA, Power BI, and generative AI.

The company is also preparing its workforce for emerging roles in AI governance, automation design, and data ethics.

“Our people are our greatest strength,” said Karthik Bhaskaran, assurance leader of EY GDS Philippines. “We are investing in their growth, equipping them with future-ready skills and enabling them to lead in a world where technology and trust go hand in hand.”

Alongside talent development, EY GDS has introduced sustainability efforts such as shifting to energy-saving sources, adopting electric vehicles, and launching a skyfarm project with Farmtop.

The company said it will continue embedding AI in its services, building leaders ready for a digital-first world, and ensuring that innovation translates into value for clients, employees, and communities.
